You can’t say you’ve been to a truly multifunctional space unless you visit, Fondazione Prada, located on 19.000 m2 of Milan’s Largo Isarco. I strongly believe that while searching the above mentioned word Google should definitely retrieve Fondazione Prada right away.

I don’t even know how to call it in general, the building or the collection of brilliant buildings, the space or a large surface, a home to various amazing components creating the unity and a breathtaking experience.

I don’t even know from which part to start with, is it concept, is it the movies they show in the cinema part, the exhibitions we see (permanent or temporary) or is it Rem Koolhaas?

Well, the whole thing definitely is the absolute magic, but Rem Koolhaas, I have to say, is a magician, the architecture is the finishing touch to the brilliant concept, all these exhibitions, the cinema part and a big bonus, a cherrie on top — Wes Anderson Cafe “Bar Luce” which I must say can be applauded for the naming as well (Luce, meaning the light in Italian)

Even though I am too late in publishing this story and my memory being not so fresh about my last visit to the hero of this post, I still remember the influence it had made on me and the point of view it gave me, nothing has ever been same after seeing the stairways of Rem, nothing has ever looked the same after eyeing the most luxurious thing on earth, remaining as plane as it can get. The true depiction of eclecticism can only be found among the confluence of golden tower and beige and grey concrete building of the Fondazione.

I simply don’t understand how can one surface contain so many information, so many different materials and colors and yet unify all of this so well, to make one big creation of beauty, from the cloakroom to the exhibition space and from the restaurants to stairways.
